Princeton High School to present Guys and Dolls

by Linda Berry

February 17, 2010

On March 19 and 20, PHS will present Frank Loesser's classic mid-century musical GUYS AND DOLLS. Set in Damon Runyon's mythical New York City, this romantic comedy explores the theme of love as a gamble via the relationships of Sarah Brown, the uptight leader of the Save-a-Soul Mission in Times Square; Sky Masterson, the high-rolling gambler who woos her on a bet and ends up falling in love; Adelaide, the perpetually sniffling nightclub singer who's been engaged to the same man for 14 years; and Nathan Detroit, her devoted fiance, desperate as always to find a spot for his infamous floating crap game. The show features familiar tunes, including "Luck Be a Lady," "Fugue for Tinhorns," and "I've Never Been in Love Before," and a number of lively dance numbers.

Tickets may be reserved by calling 815-875-3308 ext. 375
