November Elks Teen of the Month

Amanda Morrow and Ryan Deguitis were selected as November representatives for Princeton High School for the Bureau County Elks Teen of the Month. They attended a luncheon held in their honor at the Princeton Elks Lodge where Amanda was awarded the November Teen of the Month. School representatives, teens’ parents, and counselors from high schools throughout Bureau County were present at this luncheon.
Amanda is the daughter of Anthony Morrow and Stephanie
VanOrdstrand. She was recently named the 2009 DAR recipient. Amanda
is active in the PHS concert choir where she serves as a section
leader and the vice president. She is a member of Corporation,
Madrigals, and Star Spangled Singers. Amanda was chosen this year
for the IMEA District Jazz Choir and Mixed Choir. She has
participated in tennis and band throughout high school, also. She
is president of the PHS Student Council. Additionally, Amanda is
active in Scholastic Bowl and theater. This two-year National Honor
Society member has a lengthy list of community service and hopes to
further her education at Yale or Harvard.
Ryan is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kasey Degutis. He has been on the
honor roll for four years. He has been active in PHS soccer where
he has received sportsmanship awards throughout high school. He
volunteers his time for 4-H fundraising. Ryan worked for Festival
56 last summer, and he has helped his church with several
fundraising and educational activities. Ryan plans to attend
Illinois Valley Community College and then transfer to a four-year
university. His career goal is to work helping youth.
