Princeton High School names Elks Teens of the Month

The Elks Teen of the Month representatives for the month of March are Madelyn R. Stephens and Kyle J. Burrows. Madelyn, Kyle, and their parents will be honored at a luncheon at the Princeton Elks Lodge #1461 during the month of March. Nominated students from other Bureau County high schools will be represented as well.
Madelyn is the daughter of Paul and Dennis Stephens of Princeton. She is currently ranked 28th in her class of 146 students. While at Princeton High School she has participated 3 years in volleyball, 3 years in track, and was the Student of the month in her sophomore year. Stephens has also achieved High Honor Roll all four years of high school. She is a member of the National Honor Society. She has also won the Daughter's of the American Revolution award along with the Illinois Principals' Association John Ourth Award. Other organizations she has participated in include German Club, Principal's Advisory Board, and Student Council.
Outside of PHS Stephens has made a name for herself on the MetJets Swim Team, having also qualified for the State the past two years. She has also performed an abundance of community service hours that include a Mission trip to Cass Lake Minnesota, working at Covenant Children's Home, tutoring math, and serving as a camp counselor at Young Life. Stephens is planning to attend Olivet Nazarene University and major in secondary math education.
Kyle Burrows, the son of Todd and Angie Burrows lives in Princeton. Burrows is ranked 39th in his class of 147 students. While at PHS Burrows has been a member of the National Honor Society, Lifesavers, Big Brother & Big Sister, the Giving Tree Committee and the Principals' Advisory Board.
Burrows has been extremely active in the community during his high school career. He has been a Homestead Festival, Flags of Freedom, Bureau County Fairground Haunted House , Princeton Moose Lodge Kid's Club and Beef & Ag Festival Volunteer. Kyle also was the coordinator of the 2007 Princeton Park District Skateboarding Competition. Kyle is planning on attending college after graduation and majoring in Business Management.
