PHS Announces DAR Winner
Madelyn Stephens Honored

Madelyn Stephens, daughter of Paul and Denise Stephens, has been selected as the 2007 Princeton High School DAR (Daughter of American Revolution) Good Citizen Award winner. This award is sponsored by the Princeton-Illinois Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution and is on the National Association of Secondary School Principals approved list of National Contests and Activities.
Stephens was selected for this honor by the faculty and her classmates with the faculty selecting three seniors and classmates voting on one to serve as the Good Citizen of the Year. The DAR Good Citizen is selected based on dependability, service, leadership and patriotism.
Throughout high school, Stephens has been actively involved in a variety of school and community organizations. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Principal’s Advisory Board and has assisted in the New Student Orientation program. She has participated in volleyball, swimming, and track for the past four years. Additionally, Stephens has actively participated in Young Life, volunteered as a math tutor for junior high students. She was selected as the 2007 Princeton High School Homecoming Queen. Upon graduation, she plans to attend Olivet Nazarene University, Bourbonnais, Illinois to pursue a degree in nutrition science.
